How to Find the IP Address of a Local Printer in Vista

25/07/2024 Information 0

Sharing a printer across a local network provides several advantages for small businesses, the most notable of which are increased functionality, effective cost distribution, and convenience. Because most small businesses place low demands on their printers, as opposed to the high-output demands common in medium- and large-scale operations, putting the printer on a local network is cost-effective. To do so, however, the printer must be assigned an Internet Protocol address. The same method can be used to find your printer’s IP address on all three versions of the Vista operating platform designed for business use – Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate.

1.Open the Windows Start menu by clicking “Start.” Select “Printers and Faxes” from the “Settings” menu.

2.On the “Printers and Faxes” screen, locate your network printer. Right-click the device and select Properties.

3.From the pop-up menu, select “Properties.”

4.Click the “Ports” tab to view the IP address of your printer.
