How to Test a Printer Driver

18/07/2024 Information 0

When you install a printer on your work PC, Windows 7 automatically searches for and instals an appropriate driver. Furthermore, Windows includes a handy function that allows you to arrange an automated update for finding new device drivers. If the device is operational and the Windows Update capability is enabled, your PC should have the latest recent drivers. You can enter the Devices and Printers Control Panel to test the printer driver.

1.Select “Devices and Printers” from the “Start” menu.

2.Right-click the printer you want to inspect and select “Printer Properties.”

3.At the top of the “Properties” dialogue box, pick the “General” tab, then the “Print Test Page” button. If the driver is functioning properly, a test page will print successfully. If the test print fails, ensure that the USB cable connecting the computer and the printer is securely connected. Contact the manufacturer’s customer support department for additional troubleshooting if the cable is secure.
