How to Load a Ricoh Copier Staple Cartridge

Ricoh produces a variety of single and multi-function copy machines with various finishing options. A stapler that automatically staples documents as they print is one of the finishing options. This time-saving feature allows you to focus on running a successful business rather than stapling documents. When the staples in your Ricoh copier run out, simply insert a new staple cartridge into the finisher.   1.Open the front cover of the finisher to expose the stapler cartridge. Typically, the finisher cover is near the output tray of your Ricoh machine. Depending on the model, you may need to remove the internal finisher tray or other components to gain access to the stapler cartridge.   2.Grasp the lever on the staple cartridge, pulling it toward you to remove the unit from the finisher.   3.Hold both sides of the stapler cartridge and pull up on the upper unit to remove the empty staple case. The arrows on the cartridge can guide you during this process. If you cannot pull out the upper unit, then the cartridge still contains staples. You must wait until all the staples are gone before adding more.   4.Insert the staple refill case by pushing it into the stapler cartridge until it clicks into place. Do not remove the ribbon from the staple case.   5.Press the upper unit of the cartridge down until it clicks into place, then pull out the ribbon attached to the staple case.   6.Hold down the lever on the front of the cartridge and push the unit into the finisher. We’ve all had poor printing results at some point in our lives. And, despite the fact that we now have self-driving cars and smartphones with more technology than the original space shuttle, our printers are still having the same issues they did ten years ago. There’s a reason for this: printers must perform tasks that other smart devices do not: they must move individual sheets of paper, deposit inks and toners precisely, and sort and collate at high speeds. While some printing issues can be serious, minor errors are far more common and easily fixed. And printer issues are less frustrating when you have a few helpful hints. #1 – Align the Printer Cartridge or Head Your cartridges may become misaligned over time. Most printers have an automated system for adjusting alignment that you can access through the printer’s control panel. Each printer will have a unique procedure for this. On most HP devices, for example, you can find this function in the Setup menu. Check your user manual or the internet for specific instructions for your device. #2 – ADJUST PRINT SPEED Your printer may be experiencing ink over-saturation if the ink has bled or the page has warped. You can easily solve this problem by increasing the print speed. If the pages appear faded, reduce the print speed or increase the quality setting to increase ink saturation. These options are usually found in the Advanced Properties menu. #3 – Print from High-Resolution Files Print from the highest resolution file available when printing a high-quality image, logo, or document. Files are frequently saved in low resolution to reduce file size. Unfortunately, because the dots in the image are too far apart, these images will print poorly. To achieve excellent results, you may need to reconfigure your printer to use a higher resolution quality. If you do not believe your printer is configured properly for high-resolution printing, contact your print provider. #4 – Clean the Printer, the Heads, and the Cartridges A printer’s heads, nozzles, and other components can become dirty or clogged, resulting in white lines running across your page. Avoid putting your printers in high-temperature areas or near other devices that generate a lot of heat. Furthermore, keep them away from windows, which can be hot and humid. #8 – Check for driver updates Print quality may suffer if you aren’t using the most recent software. How to Scale Up a Drawing on a Printer

By default, Microsoft prints drawings based on their pixel size. For example, if a new logo drawing is 600 pixels wide, its printed form will be twice as wide as a similar 300-pixel file. You could scale up a small image file, increasing its pixel size and enlarging your printed output. You can also scale the drawing up during printing. This makes any image large enough to fill an entire printed sheet of paper. 1.Open the drawing using Windows Photo Viewer, the default Windows program for viewing several common image formats. 2.Click the “Print” drop-down menu and select “Print.” 3.Select “Full page photo” from layout pane on the right. 4.Check the box marked “Fit picture to frame” below the image preview. 5.Click “Print.”

Why Does My Printer Pause?

From brief pauses in the middle of a print job to complete freezes that halt all output, any interruption in the preparation of correspondence, presentations, and other paperwork diverts your attention away from regular company business. Examine your output workflow to troubleshoot your issue, beginning with the document queue in your printer management software and progressing to causes that originate in your files or the printing process itself. Print QueueMost desktop printing processes require three discrete steps. First, you print a document from within the software you’re using to create and edit it. Second, the data stream from your document forms a spool file on disk. Third, your operating system, and the printer driver software that communicates between it and your output hardware, sends the spooled information to the printer. The list of jobs that appears in your print management software shows you the spooled documents that await output. Within this management software, you can delete jobs so they don’t print at all and pause the output process so nothing prints until you remove the pause. Especially if you’re using a networked printer, check the queue for signs that another user placed it in pause mode. Large JobA large job data stream – in page count, file data size, or both – can cause your printer to pause between pages while it processes the information for the next page. You should be able to identify the graphics or other file assets that require more “thinking time” for the hardware to complete when you check the printer’s output tray to verify which pages it has printed and correlate the page it is currently processing with the document in your application software. ConsumablesWhen a printer requires attention, it will pause. Whether your device has run out of paper or one or more of its ink or toner cartridges needs to be replaced, it will stop printing pages until its supplies are replenished. You should see an onscreen alert identifying specific consumables that need to be replenished, or you can look at the device’s control panel for warning lights and readouts that indicate the source of your problem. When you replace or refill its supplies, the device should automatically resume output. After a supply-related outage, laser printers may require some warm-up time to bring their toner-fusing mechanisms up to temperature. Data ProblemsDocument corruption can cause your printer to pause because it can’t interpret the information it receives. In these cases, you may see a small document remain pending for a disproportionately long period of time, or a large document simply fail to complete regardless of how long you allow the output process to continue. If you examine any pages that the printer already completed, you should be able to isolate the page that contains the problem. Look for corrupt graphics files that look acceptable on your screen but fail to print regardless of how or in what application or document you try to output them. Check for font-file problems that cause unusual text appearance in the file itself, and replace the font files or switch your document to a different typeface. Printer DriverIf the printer driver software you use does not match both your hardware and your operating system, documents in your print queue may stall. Some print issues that appear to be caused by driver software can be resolved by shutting down and restarting both the printer and your computer. Persistent issues affecting multiple documents in multiple applications point to the driver. My Printer Is Not Feeding Evenly

When the hardware on which you rely for dependable performance begins to feed paper unevenly, resulting in crooked printouts and even paper jams, you end up spending more time reprinting and second-guessing your device than preparing the work you’re attempting to print. Begin your troubleshooting with the supplies you use and progress to hardware diagnostics. Paper SpecificationsWhen you buy a new printer and read the documentation, you’ll notice that a section of the specifications is dedicated to paper, detailing the range of thicknesses and types of sheets that the hardware can support. If you feed the device a thin, skimpy stack of bargain sheets or a cover-weight stock that exceeds its feeding tolerances, you’ll notice paper skating crookedly into the mechanism and misfeeds that aim for but don’t make it to the input slot. You may be able to force an out-of-spec sheet to print by feeding it through a manual bypass that results in a straight-through output path, but stick to the manufacturer’s recommendations for evenly fed results. Paper LoadEven if the paper you choose is within the printer’s recommended thickness range, putting too much or too little in the input tray can result in unevenly fed sheets. When you keep at least a mid-level stack but don’t exceed or undershoot the loading line, the rollers that move paper out of the tray work best. Similarly, combining different types of paper – or paper with transparency stock – can result in poor feeding results. Aim for a medium load and replenish it after printing. Unclean Tray RollersEven the cleanest office and equipment can accumulate paper dust and other forms of contamination. Using low-quality paper can increase the amount of paper dust that your output process emits, giving you yet another reason to use high-quality supplies. Check your manufacturer’s documentation for the correct cleaning procedure and supplies to use on paper feeding rollers. On rubberized rollers, avoid using alcohol or cleaning solutions because these substances can change the surface properties of the input mechanism, reducing its performance. Worn MechanismIf you’re using the right paper, loading your input tray correctly, and maintaining your machine according to the manufacturer’s instructions, the source of your paper-feeding issues could be the age and condition of your machine. To assess the wear on your hardware, print a test page and check the output tally to see how many sheets you’ve processed since installing the device. How to Print on Both Sides of the Paper (On Mac)

1. Click File in the software that you want to print. This menu item is on the top-left side of the menu bar that’s at the top of the screen. 2. Click Print. It’s an option in the File drop-down menu. Doing so will open the Print window. Alternatively, press Cmd + P. 3. Make sure your Mac is connected to your printer. This can be an AirPrint printer you’ve connected wirelessly or a direct USB connection. You can see the name of the currently selected printer beneath the “Printer” heading near the top of the window.
